Common Queries

What Should I Wear?

Wear as much or as little as you feel comfortable wearing. You will be covered with a sheet at all times unless I am working on a specific area of your body. A good rule of thumb is that if a bathing suit would cover a part of your body it will remain covered at all times. That being said if you wish to remain fully clothed you can, just know that this will impact the types of techniques and modalities I use.

Will It Hurt?

With the kind of work I do there will very likely be some intensity which you may experience as pain. Pain comes in many shapes and sizes and everyone's tolerances are different. The goal of my work is not to hurt you or to steamroll over your body. There may be some times when I will encourage you to breathe through the pressure, but at all times you get to decide what is too much. It is your body and you get to dictate the boundaries of our work together.

What Should I expect Afterwards?

After your appointment, it is important to drink lots of water. Your body is processing and eliminating and will need the extra fluid. If you can eliminate alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks for a day or two afterward, please do so. If this isn't possible for whatever reason be sure to drink TWICE as much water as you do all other beverages.

You may also notice that your body is sore like after a good workout. This is completely normal. Keep your body active and mobile, and engage with your daily activities as normal. If you need to, feel free to participate with electrolytes or NSAID's such as aspirin or ibuprofen in a way that is in keeping with medical recommendations and your comfort levels.
